Intro to POCUS for the Urgent Care Patient

If you are new to ultrasound, the Intro to POCUS for the Urgent Care Patient course is designed to help you build a strong foundation. Across two immersive days, you will receive both lecture-based instruction and guided, hands-on experience using live models.

Course Topics:

  • Day 1: Knobology, ultrasound artifacts, FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), lung ultrasound, and eFAST

  • Day 2: Gallbladder and biliary system, IVC and aortic (AAA) evaluation, renal and bladder scanning, and soft tissue and sinus applications

You will leave with skills that you can integrate into urgent care, primary care, and hospital-based environments.

Musculoskeletal POCUS Diagnostics and Injection Therapeutics

This advanced course focuses on musculoskeletal ultrasound applications and ultrasound-guided injection techniques. It is ideal if you already have some experience with POCUS and want to expand your capabilities.

Course Topics:

  • Day 1: Achilles tendon, plantar fascia, elbow (including biceps and olecranon), knee (MCL/LCL, IT band, patellar tendon), and shoulder (AC joint, rotator cuff)

  • Day 2: Guided injection techniques using ultrasound for nerve blocks, joint injections, peritendinous injections, and therapies including steroids, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and prolotherapy

Live model training provides the opportunity to practice scanning and injection procedures in a realistic, supportive environment.

AHA Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) Skills Session – $150

If you have already completed the AHA online course, you can complete your training with a hands-on skills session at LBW Training Center. Once you demonstrate competency, you will receive your official course completion card. This session is ideal for healthcare professionals looking to finalize their certification in stroke care.

Auricular Workshop

The Auricular Therapy Workshop is designed for practitioners (RNs, NPs, PAs, MD/DO, ND) who wish to have specific training in the art of auricular therapy, to include specific protocols like the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol used to treat substance use disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety, and Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA) used also for the treatment of pain and stress disorders.

The workshop is 50% virtual and 50% hands on practice. The didactic lectures can be viewed via video or on zoom on request, followed by a four-hour on-site hands-on practicum to ensure safe and proficient needling skills and to review the significant points of the lecture.

At the completion of the course, students will take a short follow-up exam and complete a course evaluation prior to receiving a certificate of training for 8 CNE from AIM Institute.

The cost of the program is $300.00 per student, and each class requires a minimum of two students.
