Neonatal Resuscitation Program Skills Test
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an educational program jointly sponsored with the American Heart Association (AHA). The course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn to hospital staff who care for newborns at the time of delivery, including physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. Since the inception of the NRP in 1987, over 3 million individuals in the United States and a countless number of individuals abroad have been trained in NRP. The 7th Edition is based on simulation methodology, enhancing development of critical leadership, communication and team work skills.
The new edition of NRP rolled out in October of 2015 and the format of the class has changed quite a bit. You will do the majority of the course online through Healthstream. You must complete all of the sections of the online module and print out your certificate of completion to bring to us to view prior to the start of the skills check off. You can access the healthstream module through www.healthstream.com/hlc/aap. If you do not bring the certificate of completion, we will not be able to pass you off for the skills portion.
Also, you must register for the hands-on skills check off through Healthstream. Once you get to the Healthstream site to take your online exam you will be prompted to choose an in-person skills check off. This is where you will search for Christina Miner’s class at LBW Training Center. If you don’t register for the hands-on portion, Christina has no way to pass you and you will not be able to print a card. You may find it easier to search for the class by entering the instructor’s last name, Miner, in the instructor search box.
The check off generally takes anywhere between 1-2 hours. You will go online after the skills check off with Christina to do an evaluation of the course and print your card. NRP instructors are no longer handing out cards.
NRP Skills Test Price: $95 per student (We accept Cash & all Major Credit Cards)
